Local Attractions

Lake Berkley Resort is in an ideal situation in relation to the parks, night life, restaurants and shops etc.. Just a short walk from the Medieval Times dinner show attraction on highway 192, which is the main highway through Kissimmee and situated very conveniently to a 24 hour Wal-Mart store the resort is set in a quiet backdrop where you can relax, play tennis, volleyball or exercise in the clubhouse gym in complete privacy.

Restaurants, steak houses and specialty diners are in plentiful supply along H192 and cater for every taste. Even "British" pubs can be found within a five minute drive from the resort where you can dine too on the more traditional British Fish & Chips, Cornish pasties, Bangers & Mash or Ploughman's lunches.

The centre of International Drive is less than 20 minutes away where you can find even more cuisine and many designer shops in places such as Pointe Orlando, Premium Outlets, The Mercado and Belz Factory Outlets. A word of warning though for the discerning shopper - compared to the UK the prices of designer goods in Florida are so cheap that you could spend half of your vacation shopping!! On your journey up International Drive you will pass Sea World Adventure Park which is a must for everyone traveling to Florida and before you reach Belz factory outlets you will pass Universal Studios and Universal Studios Islands of Adventure which is Universal's latest theme park comprising of 5 "Islands" each with its own personality. There is Toon Lagoon for the children , Marvel Super Hero Island for the battles between good and evil, Jurassic Park with prehistoric monsters, the Lost Continent with mythical sorcerers and Seuss Landing. Together with City Walk night spot on site its a great place to be for an evenings wining and dining.

Other local activities to be found nearby are Airboat Rides, Helicopter rides, Water Skiing, Water Parks and Golf, Golf & more Golf in both miniature and 18 hole championship variety (see our golf page for further info). Old Town is only five minutes away and is well worth a visit at anytime of the day or night with its old American style shops and Restaurants combined with fun activities for the younger person.

Disney theme parks are only 10 minutes drive away from Lake Berkley and close enough to return to the villa for a break after a hard days walking and after re-charging your batteries you can take in evening activities at Disney's EPCOT center which must host one of the most spectacular firework displays in the World. Epcot is both a cultural and educational attraction where you can sample the fayres in France, Germany, Japan and many other themed countries as well as learning about dinosaurs and deep sea creatures.

If you want to see just how a movie is made then travel to MGM Studios where you can also see Disney animators creating those wonderful characters you have grown up with.

For a great night out why not try Downtown Disney which has over 70 shops, restaurants and clubs. It is also home to Pleasure Island, Planet Hollywood, World of Disney, Disney Quest and the Rainforest Cafe'

Fancy a ride out? Try Kennedy Space Center, only 60 minutes away and well worth the journey. If you are fortunate enough to be in Florida when a space shuttle launch is due and you have never been close to one it is absolutely breathtaking.
